Is the Gilgit Eye Hospital (GEH) held accountable?

Yes - on an annual basis auditors from an international chartered accountant agency come up from Islamabad and audit our hospital. The report is then presented at our annual Vision International Pakistan (VIP) board meeting.

How much of my donation will be spent on administration costs?

Firstly GEH does not operate any international office or have any fundraising budget. Neither does your donation fund an expatriate staff members salary - all our expat staff are totally self supported.Your donation goes direct to Gilgit Eye Hospital and its work.

If your donation is sent through our US partner Earth Mission (EM), adminstration costs of 5% are deducted which helps contribute to the costs of running the EM office, communications and money wire transfers. We are extremely grateful to EM for their support of our project.

If your donation is given via our other channels in the UK or NZ, on a quarterly basis donations are wired to GEH to keep costs down. The bank fees for the wire transfers are the only fees that are deducted from your donation.
